Namen - Railway station
Radical renovation of the station’s building. Renovation of the historical front building : Complete removal of the roof covering, the floor covering and the walls. Construction of a basement and supplementary wooden floor. New zinc roof covering, completion and special techniques. The way in which the façades were repaired was remarkable : the same technic applied for classified buildings in France was used, known as the sandtechnique. Complete demolition of the central part of the building and construction of a reception hall with ticket offices, escalators, etc. The reception hall for travelers was built on a concrete floor plate, resting on micro piles. This construction has been built in an extreme short time frame (9 months). The works consisted of the completion of the hall and special techniques, the ticket offices, the offices, etc. For this project a temporary association as formed.
